Race, Fun, and Tragedy

The adrenaline of the 2008 race had remained. Saving for another trip for the same event for 2009 had been a priority for us. As early as April, when I received an email from the organizers that the tickets are ready for online purchase, we grabbed it followed by booking our plane tickets and hotels. Everything was set as early as third week of April.

It's an amazing year for Brawn as Jenson Button leads in the point standing from the very start, good thing for the new team who had limited budget compared to Honda who spends like ten times or more than Brawn. Although, me and wifey's rooting for Lewis Hamilton who won the Singapore Grand Prix, it was still a good race to watch as there are so many other activities that fans can do while waiting for the qualifying and the race.

That is the beauty of having a race held in the night and in the street. You have all day to visit other places and shop all day and just walk to the circuit afterwards.
It has been great that the organizers has lot of activities like concerts (Rivermaya is there as a performer). It's a pride for us Pinoys near the Stamford Grandstand as other nationalities enjoyed their performance during their set. Watching the group again after the departure of Bamboo and Rico Blanco is another fresh start for the group.

As any event, it is very fortunate and not so fortunate for us. Fortunate that we were able to watch it again for the second time but at the same time, it is very unfortunate that during the event in Singapore, our beloved country (especially in Metro Manila) was hit by Ondoy.
